Notes from supplier website:
Founded in 1976, the Layo Teraga cooperative provides market access for its smallholder members that would otherwise not have existed in Guji, where prices for coffee have historically been lower than neighboring Gedeo or Sidama zones because of this lack of market access. Located in northern Uraga in the Guji zone, the 1841 smallholder members of the cooperative grow coffee in gardens around their homes in semi-forested environments at staggeringly high elevations of 2342 MASL.

- Very smokey batch
- Drop time is a bit inaccurate because I ejected beans before confirming drop & didn't realize for maybe 10-15 seconds

Notes
- Higher heat
- 1 minute soak
- Bumped heat up to 75% around 340°F for ~30 seconds or so, then slowly lowered until drop time
- Had a good rolling FC on this batch
- Really happy with the color of these beans

Notes
- Tried a much slower roast based on a discord comment
- Took a loooong time to hit FC
- Also tried to bump up heat right before FC
- Actually, looking at RoR curve, it turned out okay except where I boosted heat
- Beans look vaguely larger than last batch tho

Notes
- Attempting a 1 minute soak time with this batch
- A little longer roast than last round but not by much
- This batch ended up being super smokey
- RoR curve not as good as last batch + had a pretty big drop at the end
- TBD on how this turns out 😊

Notes
- Roasting outside, it's hot out today. But replacement vent tube won't be here until tomorrow for indoor roasting
- Also tried increasing fan toward second half of roast
- Tried higher charge temp & more aggressive roast to get these beans cooked better this round. They look better (larger & better cracked), but we'll see tomorrow morning.

Notes
- First batch!
- Started lower temp at ~380
- Struggled a bit to keep RoR consistent / slow drop, it was a bit all over
- Felt like FC took forever, but looking at last roast log of Unspecified Nicaraguan - it was actually still sooner
- Beans are quite small and dense compared to that Nicaraguan though
- Also first time dropping drum speed to 60-65 from default of 80 based on some comments from discord
- Curious to taste tomorrow
- Not good. Espresso is too dense and difficult to extract, ends up being sour and very flat / bland
- French press is better, but still quite flat
